A Rose Called Pure Poetry

I had the pleasure of walking through the rose garden at Shinjuku Gyoen earlier this week. The amazing rose garden in the far east side of the park was peaking and is mobbed with admirers. I was drawn to a particular group of roses called "Pure Poetry".

Tancho Rose at the Yoyogi Park Rose Garden

This vibrant rose variety is called "Tancho". According to the nearby signage, this variety was developed in 1986.

"Carefully Wonder" Why? or a Yoyogi Rose

Not sure why, but this variety of pink rose is called "Carefully Wonder". I just wondered why?

There was a light sprinkle this morning when I went to Yoyogi Park to visit the rose garden. The roses are in in full bloom right now and are magnificent. There was just enough rain to keep others away, and to leave water droplets glistening on the delicate petals.

Yellow Rose of Yoyogi Park

The flower gardens in Yoyogi are especially beautiful in early fall.  It was more like a late summer day than autumn in the park.  The roses were in full form and were appreciated by people and dragonflies alike.

Yoyogi Rose Garden

The family had a wonderful day at Yoyogi Park on Sunday.  We rode bicycles on the cycling course and met up with some friends by accident.

I took some out to snap several quick photos in Yoyogi's beautiful rose garden.  These were taken by my 20+ year old Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 AF (non-D).
